In June 1986 a bunch of unlikely ‘pop stars’ took the charts by storm with an even more unlikely Number 1 song. ‘Spirit in the Sky’, was the song that propelled Doctor & the Medics to the Number 1 slot, not only in the UK but in 18 countries across the globe. Twenty five years on the song is as popular now as it was then, and is still recognised as one of the defining Number 1 hits of the 1980s.
Since then the Medics’ energetic and colourful live show has continued to attract new fans through their many festivals, 80s weekends, theatre tours, corporate and fundraising events and private functions, sharing the stage with a host of well-known artists including Go West, ABC, Toyah Wilcox, The Proclaimers, Hue & Cry, The Stranglers, Bananarama, Texas, Embrace and Miss Dynamite, to name a few.

The show ends on a real high with the song that made them famous, ‘Spirit in the Sky’ – one of the best loved anthems of the 1980s.
