Basses
Jaydee Series III (Mark King Model)
My first bass, nice warm sound and great for slap. Signed by Mark on the front and lacquered by John Diggins in Birmingham.
Status Series 2000
Status Series 2000, fitted with Green Sims Custom LEDs – It was made in 1989. The design has become a classic amoungst bass players.
Status Kingbass Black Beauty
My main stage bass. Quality, no need to say anymore!
Status Kingbass Princess
My new addition to the arsenal. Only about 5 made so far. A beautiful bass and a legend already! This bass will follow me to every gig.
Fender Mark King Signature Jazz
Fender Mark King Signature Jazz fitted with Blue Sims Custom LEDs – Nice thin neck and great sound. These basses are quite rare as only 42 were ever made. This has the serial number “42” which makes it even rarer.
Alembic Series I
It weighs an absolute ton! But what a bass. I bought the bass in 1998. It used to belong to Mark King who bought the bass in New York while he was waiting for his 2 Alembic Series II’s to be made. It appears on a couple of Level 42 videos, the It's Over single and the Fait Accompli documentary.
Amplifiers
Ashdown Engineering MK500
In my opinion the best amp around. The graphic lets you shape your sound as you like it.
Speakers
Ashdown Engineering 4x8
2 compact speakers giving me clarity and punch, customised with the Union flag.
